Dear Customer,
From 1 July 2025, new regulations will prohibit the discharge of open loop scrubber wash water in the territorial waters of Denmark, Finland, and Sweden. To comply, vessels must either use closed loop scrubbers, switch from HFO to low-sulphur fuels, or adjust routes to avoid these waters where feasible.
Some of our vessels are fitted with hybrid scrubbers, and thus have the ability to use the scrubbers in closed-loop mode. Those without closed loop systems will be affected. These restrictions overlap with parts of our regularly used routes. To reflect the use of more expensive fuels and possible route changes, we will update our bunker clause accordingly.
At present, there is no cost impact.
The basis for Liner Services Bunker Recovery Factor (BRF) will be changed as follows:
Present New 75 % Ultra-Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (ULSFO) 50 % Ultra-Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (ULSFO) 25 % Marine Gasoil (MGO) 50 % Marine Gasoil (MGO)
