Owing to operational difficulties and a challenging market development, it has been decided after careful consideration that with effect from 1st January 2024 our service between Calais and Tilbury will cease.

The last departure will be from Tilbury 10:00 hrs  Saturday 30th December.

To underline our continued commitment to our valued customers and to support you and your business, effective from Monday 18th December 2023 we will re-commence our unaccompanied trailer services between Calais and Dover. We will continue to offer the most choice and frequency across the Channel with both Dover<>Dunkerque and Dover<>Calais now offering both accompanied and unaccompanied services.

We sincerely thank you for your support for the Tilbury<>Calais service and would like to offer all current Tilbury<>Calais customers preference for our unaccompanied service on the Dover routes. Please reach out to your sales manager to discuss options or if you have any questions.

Switching to Dover<>Calais

When switching to our Dover<>Calais service, please be reminded to contact your customs broker to arrange for the customs documentation to be amended accordingly.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind you that when shipping via the Port of Dover, ancillary charges specific to the port shall apply as normal (Port Tax & Demurrage after 24 hours standage). Please note, these charges are enforced by the port and not the responsibility of DFDS.
